The Fundamentals of Photography: With an interactive demo

  • Composition Basics: Learn rules, techniques, and my personal tips for visually stunning photos.
  • Photographer’s Philosophy: Best practices for respectful and professional shooting, and practices outside of your camera that will get you the best shot.The do’s and don’t’s.

Learn the secrets behind an efficient workflow, from organizing your photos and videos to editing like a pro:

  • Workflow Setup: Importing, organizing, and structuring your files effectively.
  • Photo Editing: Step-by-step editing techniques in Lightroom from start to export.
  • Intro to Video Editing: My streamlined approach to turning clips into engaging stories.

Leave the workshop feeling confident, organized, and excited about your creative journey ahead!

Things to bring:
-  Camera or a mobile phone. If you’re going to be using a mobile phone, please download the Moment Camera App beforehand.
    ⁃    Laptop with Adobe Lightroom Classic installed (make sure its the classic version of the software).
    ⁃    Hardrive

If you don’t have access to a camera or many lenses, Sony will be providing us some gear to use for the shoot day. However I don’t think there will be enough for all of you, so it’s best to bring your own equipment.

Spend 2 action-packed days with me in the field, and in a post production studio.

I’m going to cover a range of important topics that will bring new meaning and a deeper purpose to your photography. This workshop is designed to level-up your photography, content creation and storytelling abilities.

Kick-start your photography journey by learning the essentials in a approachable environment surrounded by likeminded individuals! My goal is to cover the fundamentals, making sure you leave confident and inspired. No prior photography experience is required, but you will need a camera (or an iPhone from the last 4 years).

I will take you into the field and shoot alongside you. I’ll show you my techniques for getting the perfect shot and what I look for in a scene.

On the last day, we will go through my workflow, post production process and do a group editing session. We will also dive into the business side of photography.

A FEW NOTES about the workshop:
  • Food during the workshop is included. This will mostly be lunches and dinner.
  • Transportation during the workshop is included, however you can drive your own car if you want to.
  • Ages 16+ are welcome.
  • Once you sign up, a questionnaire will be sent for you to fill out. This will help us prepare for dietary restrictions, experience level, etc.
  • A more detailed itinerary will be emailed to students a week prior to the workshop beginning.
  • Accommodation is NOT included.
  • You will get the most out of this course if you bring your own laptop (with Lightroom Classic installed) and your own camera.
  • If you need to cancel more than 1 week in advance, there is a non-refundable deposit of $199.
  • There will be no refund if you need to cancel less than 1 week in advance.
